A small outfit that lives at the trailhead
Kiguba Adventure Safaris started with one Land Cruiser and a permit booked by fax. The company is still small on purpose — a core team of guides and coordinators who know the wardens, the lodge owners and the tracker crews by name.
Most of our guides grew up in Kisoro or on the edge of Bwindi. Several worked as porters or trackers before they were driver-guides. That is the whole pitch: the people running your trip are from the place you came to see.

We book the dated gorilla permit before anything else. No permit, no deposit taken — we won’t sell a trek we can’t put on the mountain.
Porters are hired from the community rota and paid above the park minimum. A share of every trek goes to the Bwindi trailhead fund.
While you’re in Uganda, a coordinator’s phone is on. Flight slips, altitude, a changed permit date — it gets handled from our side.
Roughly half of all mountain gorillas alive today are in Bwindi and the Virungas.
Permit fees fund the rangers and trackers who protect the families every day, and a fifth is shared with the parishes around the park. Tourism is the reason the forest is still standing.
We add to that with the trailhead fund — boots and rain gear for porters, and school fees for tracker families in Nkuringo and Rushaga.
