Day by day
  1. Kigali → Musanze
    Drive 2–2.5 hrs on tarmac

    Straight from Kigali airport to the foot of the Virungas, with the Genocide Memorial en route if you want it. Evening briefing.

  2. Rwanda gorilla trek
    Briefing 07:00 at Kinigi · trek 2–7 hrs · one hour

    Track a family on the flanks of Bisoke or Sabyinyo — bamboo, potato fields, open sky, and often thick mud.

  3. Musanze → Bwindi
    Drive 3–4 hrs via the Cyanika border

    Cross into Uganda and climb into the Bwindi highlands. Afternoon at the lodge.

  4. Uganda gorilla trek
    Briefing 07:30 · trek 3–7 hrs · one hour

    Bwindi’s rainforest trek — darker, denser and more of a scramble than the day before.

  5. Bwindi → Lake Bunyonyi
    Drive 1–2 hrs

    A night on the terraced lake to compare the two treks.

  6. Bunyonyi → Kigali
    Drive 3–4 hrs via Cyanika

    Back across the border to Kigali for your flight.
